The colors of the finished product are very attractive. They may be a dark shade of amber or light golden which greatly depends on the finish. Light golden is bamboo’s natural color while the darker amber shade is achieved through carbonization.
The installation process of solid bamboo floors is quite similar to the installation of any other ‘hardwood’ flooring that you may use. It can be nailed or glued to the sub flooring, installed over plywood, particle board, OSB or floated. It can even be installed over a radiant floor heating system.
Moisture equilibrium is no longer needed with solid bamboo flooring since it is manufactured with 6 percent to 9 percent of moisture content. This type of flooring is very easy to install so new buyers should not have a problem with it. Some may have heard of complaints about using a regular floor nailer but any DIYer can easily remedy this by using pneumatic nail gun.
